Overview

Reception & gatehouse

Reception is the only security position that is also a calling card. Whoever stands there shapes the first impression of your company – and at the same time decides who enters the building. Doing both well at once is its own qualification.

Our reception and gatehouse service provides a friendly welcome and efficient control of access to your premises. Our staff are approachable and assertive at the same time – the combination this position demands.

Situation and risks

Reception is where security concepts fail in practice:

  • Tailgating. The visitor who follows an employee through the barrier because nobody wants to say anything.
  • Unannounced contractors and couriers. A hi-vis vest and a clipboard open a surprising number of doors.
  • Incomplete visitor records. After an incident it is no longer possible to establish who was in the building.
  • Unstaffed periods. Lunch breaks, sickness, holidays – gaps that quickly become known outside.
  • Overwhelmed in conflict. Reception staff without security training face situations they were never trained for.

Our approach

We staff your reception or gatehouse with people who handle both sides: guests are welcomed, registered and escorted – and anyone who does not belong does not get in. Control follows your rules: visitor registration, ID checks, visitor passes, escort to the host, documented return.

We also take on the tasks this position is naturally suited to: post and parcel handling, key issue, switchboard, car park management, delivery traffic control. In English on request.

For multi-shift operations we ensure continuous cover – including breaks, public holidays and sickness.

Why Secure Concept

For this position we deliberately select people who can stay friendly when things get uncomfortable. That is harder to find than mere presence – and the reason we prioritise continuity here: the same faces your employees and regular visitors know.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Many clients only have the gaps covered when their own receptionist is absent – lunch breaks, holidays, sickness, fringe hours or the late shift. That is often the most practical starting point, because those gaps determine the actual level of security.
