Overview

Construction site security

A construction site regularly holds substantial value in the open: cable, metal, tools, machinery, materials. The real damage is rarely the material value – it is the delay. Stolen cable costs a multiple once electrical installation stops for two weeks and the following trades lose their slots.

We secure sites so that progress is not interrupted – from excavation to handover, with a concept that changes as the build phase changes.

Situation and risks

Construction sites are exposed for several reasons:

  • Non-ferrous metal and cable. The classic target: high resale value, low risk of detection.
  • Tools and small plant. Equipment disappears unnoticed because many firms work on one site.
  • Fuel. Diesel is regularly siphoned from plant at night.
  • Vandalism. Broken windows, blocked pipes, drains filled with concrete – damage noticed far too late.
  • Unauthorised entry. Beyond theft this is a liability issue: the client carries the duty of care.
  • Changing access rights. New subcontractors every week – without control, nobody knows who is on site.

Our approach

We align the deployment with the build phase. During shell construction the perimeter dominates: hoarding, access, material storage, fuel. During fit-out the risk moves inside – installed systems, sanitary ware, cable, and access control for the many trades involved.

We work with night and weekend cover, varying patrol rounds and, where useful, mobile surveillance technology as a supplement. Where we run access control we keep an attendance record that also serves as evidence for you.

On any finding we report immediately to the point of contact you nominate, documented with time, place and description.

Scope of services

Construction site security — Scope of services

Guarding outside working hours

Night, weekend and public holiday cover when the site is unoccupied.

Patrol rounds across the site

Rounds at varying times checking hoarding, storage, plant and fuel stocks.

Access control at the site gate

Checking authorisations, recording attendance, managing delivery traffic.

Material stores and containers

Targeted protection of high-risk areas such as cable drums and tool containers.

Supplementary surveillance technology

Mobile camera solutions where technology sensibly supports staffing.

Reporting chain and documentation

Immediate notification to your nominated contact, with time, place and description.

Your benefits

Concept by build phase

Shell and fit-out need different protection – we adjust.

Protecting the programme

The most expensive damage is delay, not material.

Attendance evidence

Access records that also help with liability questions.

Visit before quote

No flat rate by square metre.

How we work together

How we work together

Enquiry

Location, size, build phase, expected duration, previous incidents.

Site visit

We look at access, hoarding, storage areas and the neighbourhood.

Security concept

Times, number of posts, check rhythm and reporting chain – in writing.

Delivery

Briefed staff, documented rounds, immediate reporting of findings.

Adjustment

When the build phase changes, the concept changes.

Who this is for

  • Construction firms and main contractors
  • Developers and clients
  • Architecture and engineering practices running site management
  • Municipal developers
  • Infrastructure project operators

Why Secure Concept

Why Secure Concept

We do not price by the square metre. An inner-city site with one open side needs something different from a fenced field on the edge of town. That is why we visit before writing a quote.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Size is not the deciding factor. What matters is the value of material left in the open, how accessible the site is, the surroundings and the build programme. A small, poorly overlooked site with a cable and tool store can be more exposed than a large fenced area. Also factor in delay, not just material value.

No, but it complements it well. A camera deters and documents, but it does not intervene. Without a defined response – who is informed, who attends – you are left with a recording and nothing more. In practice the combination works: technology detects, people respond. What suits your site we establish during the visit.
